Microsoft is designing low budget 12.5-inch surface laptop to run on 10th gen Intel CPU

As per details from inside sources, Microsoft is looking to instigate a budget 12.5-inch laptop similar to the Surface Go, this means lower price and aimed at students. The latest machine is assumed to fill in the gap between Surface Go and the Surface Laptop with a price tag between $500 and $600.

The laptop will operate on Intel’s 10th Generation Core i5 CPU matching with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. According to the price tag, we would guess that the CPU will be from the Y-series, low-powered chips.

The laptop will operate on Windows 10 in S Mode, meaning only Microsoft Store apps and Edge for secure browsing. It’s a notebook for education following aims to appeal to the crowd with higher security and performance on the cheap.

The sources state that the device is codenamed “Sparti” and it’s just similar to all Surface devices presently, which in turn means that Microsoft hasn’t slash any corners when it comes to design features and usability. Lightweight and portability aren’t ignored also.

Existing news signifies that the device will be unveiled together with other Surface products around October.
